As children develop, their academic interests and success can be greatly impacted by tutors and mentors, but many students don’t have regular access to those resources. I’m broadly interested in how educational technology can help fill some of those gaps and create meaningful learning experiences. In the past, I completed a bachelor’s in physics and a master’s in teaching, after which I taught high school math and physics and worked for an ed-tech company designing math and science curriculum. I’m hoping to apply those experiences to my current work in educational robotics. My current project is to design how an in-home robot can interact with middle school students to support and motivate them in learning science.
